I derived my figures from past posts where people weighed the rims and tires together. For the Bridgestone RE050As, the 245/40/18s weigh 27lbs and the 265/35/19s weight 32lbs. For tires and rims together, most people posted figures of about 51lbs for the front and 56lbs for the rear. There were about four posts or so from different people with these numbers.
I've never actually weighed mine, but looking at them I would not be surprised that they're almost 8 lb. heavier. That extra inch in diameter and inch in width makes a pretty big difference.

That's one of the reasons I'm wanting the RE30s, which I think are about 21 for the same size back, and something less than that for the front. I'm thinking the new "mecury black" color since I have carbon silver.

I just did a quick search on the RE30s. Do those come in 19s? All I see are 18s for the style wheel.

They're nice, but I think I'd stick with the stock rays.

they're coming out with the 19 size in Sept., they are not out as of yet. I'd actually prefer a split 5 spoke design, but I haven't found anything yet.. other than HRE and they're a little on the pricey side.

If you have an Enthu then you don't have the GT stock wheel

Maybe i misunderstood, anyhow get the volks nice and wide!

Cheers

Yeah, HREs are pricey, but if you're concerned with weight, most HREs are rather heavy unless you go with the competition series.

Thanks for the responses guys!
I'm a little surprised thes forged wheels could weigh so much. I'd expect cast wheels to weigh in the 26lb range - maybe it's because these are wider than I'm used to.
The Volks are very nice. I think if they're within $500+/- of the stock Rays, I'd opt for the Volks instead. I'm a bit of a purist (I like the car to look as stock as possible), but I do really like the Volks pictured above. What's the best place to buy either one of these wheels?

I wouldn't buy the stock rays at MSRP, but on the used market, they're a really good value.

During the malibu drive, if you remember that white Z, I believe he bought his OEM rays for ~$1000 without tires.

Yeah, I remember - we spoke about his deal. Sounded like it was not exactly easy to locate them, although he eventually did.
I like the OEM look...just my preference. The RAYS are .5" narrower than what Volks would be.
I Just located a set of the the RAYS wheels, 1000 miles on them with tires for $1800 through a member. Apparently they're in perfect condition with the original tires...
Thoughts?

There was a recent thread of a guy selling his GT/Track wheels for 1400 WITH tires...almost bought them myself and I own a set on my stock track model lol

against 4-5000 for a set of new volks

I have seen some good deals on SSRs SP1's lately in large widths but still 24-2800 easy with a few in the 3500 range

Multipiece wheels are slightly heavier but are easier to customize and I LOVE the lips.....4.5 to 5" at least to quantify it as worth the price though

I want a mutipiece wheels for a more agressive offset and wide tire choices...the 19's have much fewer choices compared to 18's for some reason

Well that's $1000 worth of tires right there, so overall I think it's a good deal. Then again, you could get a set of 19" Volks with tires for ~$2200 in the classified section.

As for width, I think the stock wheels at 9" fronts and 10" rears are sufficiently wide. The 9 inch front can comfortably fit a 255 or 265mm tire as is. And the 10 inch rear will go fine with a 275 or 285mm tire. Not sure about your plans for the car, but unless you go FI, you simply don't need a wider tire in the rear.

If you fit the same 275 or 285mm tire on a 10.5 inch volk, the lip will stick out more and you will have less protection from curb rash. I actually wish Volks had a 10 inch rear rather than 10.5 inch.

I thought about that too (another plus for the stock RAYS). I don't intend on rolling fenders/having problems getting the wheels to fit (the easier the better), so the optional RAYS wheels should work just fine. I'm assuming there's no difference between the wheels I have and these RAYS in terms of fitment, requiring additional hardware - should be a straight swap, right?
At $1800 I think it's fair. Not exactly the best deal on the market, but like you said - it includes the tires too, which have low miles.
Any idea what these cost new? (I'll call the dealer tomorrow, but maybe someone knows...).
I'll probably be getting them tomorrow

Should be a straight swap.

As for price, the stock tires are ~$1000 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...e&RunFlat=None

The OEM forged rays are $1313.93 per wheel for the fronts and $1647.93 per wheel for the rears.

Yeah, it is a decent deal if you consider everything. Keep in mind those prices I posted are MSRP/retail. You should still give performance nissan or west covina nissan a call to see how much you can get them for.

Your pricing #'s were pretty darn close. Talked to Justin at West Covina and he confirmed.
Getting my GT track wheels this afternoon.
Thanks again everyone.

I think it was kinda pointless that you made a thread if you ALREADY knew EXACTLY what you wanted - stock RAYS.

Also, you can't post in the FS section for a reason - please read the rules. Also since you're not following it I'll step out and said $1100 is a rip off! There is a set fs in my local forum with 1k miles and 100% Mint for $450
