Stock '07 forged wheels or Volk?
I'm trying to locate the stock wheels you see below. I want the larger wheels (I have a stock '07 Enthusiast), but I don't want to go to an aftermarket wheel yet (I think). Is there any advantage over an aftermarket wheel
(like the Volk below) anyhow over the stock forged wheels (looks aside)?
Does anyone have the weights on both these wheels (I think they're the same size).
If anyone knows where I can find a used set of the stock forged Rays, or knows where I can find them at a better price than new at the dealer, please let me know. Also, opinions of stock vs aftermarket are appreciated
Thanks.

both are rays
the 07s are lighter because they're monoblock. the gt-s are multiple pieces. but they're nice and wide.
here's my advice...
you buy the 07s......a few months later.....you'll sell the 07s and buy the gt-s.

I would go with the GT-S personally. Also the GT-S do not weigh 21lbs but weigh about 26-27lbs cant exactly remember the # tho. I am not sure on the stock rims however.
So your tire weighs about 20lbs? I say 20lbs because I know for a fact the GT-S weigh 26-27lbs out of the box. Please dont take this the wrong way I just kinda have a hard time believing a 285 weighs that much when the average weight for a 285 is about 26+lbs.

Get the gts's. If you buy the stock ones you will end up picking up the gts's in a few months. I think we've all done that. This site will do that to you when you look at all these sick cars.
Plus the thread you copied that pic from is a killer deal!!! If they are still for sale you should ****** them up.

those stock GT wheels are 18x9 front at ~23 lbs, and 19x10 rear at ~29 lbs. I know I have them. I'm looking to upgrade, but I'm waiting for the RE30 in 19s that should be out in Sept. I'm trying to stay with 18 front and 19 rear (reason for the wait)

I was hoping that they would be a bit lighter since the old track rims were ~18lbs I believe.

The Nismo wheels are the same design, the ONLY difference is color and instead of "dots" on the spoke, they have a recessed stripe.
Like you, I wish they were lighter, but they're not.
If you look at these vs. the older track wheels, you can see that these are much beefier looking (in the spokes).John
Yeah, I was wondering if the NismoZ had the same rims. 29lbs is awfully heavy for a 19" forged wheel though, especially since a cast wheel pretty much weighs about the same. I know they have thicker spokes and some lip, but that's still quite heavy.
I derived my figures from past posts where people weighed the rims and tires together. For the Bridgestone RE050As, the 245/40/18s weigh 27lbs and the 265/35/19s weight 32lbs. For tires and rims together, most people posted figures of about 51lbs for the front and 56lbs for the rear. There were about four posts or so from different people with these numbers.
