Tire Width Questions
I know I should be searching 1st, and i did, but could not find the answer.
So here is the question:
Right now i have 18x8.5 front & 18x9.5 rear.
245/45/18 fronts & 275/40/18 rear
I would like to go wider on the rear
How wide can I go?
295/35/18?
Thanx guys.

I do agree with the part about being able to get any answer you're looking for.
To the OP: If you go wider in the back, go wider in the front as well. Use a tire calculator and make sure that you are increasing both of the contact patches. The more imbalance to the rear you have, the more understeer you'll get.

We have ran up to a 285/30/18 on a 18x8.5" wheel up front and a 315/30/18 on a 18x9.5" wheel on the rear. I use this tire combination all the time for years, no problems at all. This is assumeing that your ride hight and wheel offsets are in check. I wouldn't recomend anything over these sizes, but you can go "up to" these sizes on your wheels with no problems.

I'd do 275/35 front, 295/35 rear for max width. I saw that combo on a set of 8.5/9.5 Rotas this weekend and it looked pretty good although there was a little sidewall bulge. 245 front, 305 rear = severe understeer.
