Default using "rear" 9.5in LMGT4s up front?

anyone doing this? can it be done?

I'd like cheaper / rotatable tires and less understeer...

Use a offset calculator to compare your current wheels to the new wheels. With the new dimensions, check the car with a tape. Do you clear the suspension, brakes calipers and fenders? Reference: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

I have that site bookmarked. pretty useful... BUT - what I am asking is:

IS ANYONE ELSE RUNNING THIS SETUP - actual experience > calculations imo. We "calculated" that those mustang rims would fit, but keep in mind the tire calculators don't take into account stretch / bulge etc and all tires aren't close to equal.

I could just swap a rear onto the front but I'd worry about test-driving it with the fronts on the rear, although I suppose turning the wheels / going over a few small bumps to simulate compression etc might be safe (enough).

It will work fine - but if you are not sure then go ahead and swap them, no need to worry about a test drive. No damage will be done.

There isnt really anything that makes the wheel "rear" specific. 9.5 is a very common size to run on the front.

Yes, it definitely fits and works fine. There's a local guy with 9½/10½ x 19" Nismo wheels with no issues.
