Default To rotate tires or not?

I used the search feature, and didn't see anything related.

The topic pretty much says it all: Do I rotate my tires? I have a bit over 6100 on the odometer, and normally I would just rotate the tires. Being as my Z is the first car I have owned that had different tire sizes front and rear and are also unidirectional, I wanted to get some advice.

So do I spend a good bit of money to have the tires pulled off the rims, swap the sides, and make myself feel better because I "rotated" the tires? Or do I just make sure they are balanced, and the alignment is still good, since I will probably be buying new tires around 20 K or so anyway?

No. A rotation will cost about $80. If the tires are wearing evenly, leave them alone.

Read the manual. It specifically states you do not rotate the tires on a 350Z.

rotating the front and back tires with each other would really throw off your balance and handling characteristics.

Thanks for the replies, everybody. I was away for the weekend, so just now got to check.

Thanks, davidv, I have seen you give a lot of sound advice since I became a member. Keep it up.

Yeah, trains, I should have looked at the manual first, so that is my mistake.

flintgauge, for clarification, I would not put the larger rear tires on the front, and the smaller front tires on the rear, but I suppose some people may not know that, so thanks for the heads up.
