i did a set in matte black and i liked them a lot. pretty easy to keep clean, and didnt scratch as easily as black powdercoat, which is really really bad about scratching

I am looking at some Nismo's and understand it is impossible to get them in black. So I will have to buy bronze/silver and pwdrcoat them black. I want them to look glossy like the pic attached.

Question is...Will a black glossy pwdrcoat be as durable as the original finish from Nismo? I can picture the scratches you are talking about and wonder if a clear coat will protect them.

What are others doing to their Nismos to get them black?

The Nismos did come in a Limited black version - probably easier to find a used set than new now (not that that will be easy either), but they did in fact come in black

Also, those pics you have are of the Rotas - not nismos. They are widely available in black (flat, glossy, hyperblack, etc.)

Yes, you are correct, I was just using them as reference for the PPW on glossy black combo.

I'll keep my eye on the classifieds.

High gloss black, with clear coat. I think that was how the Nismo was.

if its a track wheel, matte black will hide the dust better-. but if its a daily driving wheel and you want to take some pictures of it. glossy black will allow the spokes to come out better and people can 'see' them.

Not a huge fan of black wheels.

What about gold?

What about powder coating a silver wheel flat black, no clear, while keeping the lip polished? I'm trying to decide on some good black 5-spoke wheels with a nice lip for my super black Z, but never saw the flat black/polished lip combo before.

The Nismo's look like 'semi-flat'.

If you go too flat or stealth flat, it's going to look like it was sprayed with a can of Krylon paint.

Okay, so those are nice. But I still maintain that gold>black. On any car that you could put black on, gold would rock.

My rims are Gloss black with SilverStone lips. You got a lot of haters on the forum that don't respect your stuff so watch the comments. I got nothing but love when people see my rims because is off the damn hook. Not to brag but it just makes the car look like a beast. Pictures cant explain.....
