Rota isn't a bad wheel company, they make quality stuff.

On a side note, I'm willing to bet that most of the Volk owners on this site didn't write a check for their wheels, they put them on some line of credit. That's how they can they can brag that they can "afford" quality wheels.

Credit card debt FTL.

I too am considering the P45r's and also considering blue liquids s tune suspension if he would just pull the trigger and get the R-tune but thats for another thread...Anyway..I understand that Volk's are probably a better wheel but are they really $500+/wheel better? I know you get what you pay for but come on $500 better, I think we are paying for a name... just my .02

ROTA's FTL. IMO any company that jocks other brands rim styles & themes is lame.

To those people saying that Volks are a fad, consider what wheels come stock on the Touring edition Z.
Consider the wheels used in the most prestigous racing league on Earth, F1.
Consider Mazdaspeed's lineup of OEM Rays.

Rotas serve their purpose, and do it well. I have raced and DD both Volks and Rotas. The only difference is, I generally use the Volks for racing because they are forged and lighter.

True rim guys know that dropping those last few pounds from a rim is where it gets expensive. A lot of people buying Volks for their beautiful looks don't even realize they are getting some 17 pound 19" rims. Wow.

Rotas are perfect for the purpose they serve: budget rims. They look great, are durable under all normal conditions, and the ONLY rim-breaking Rota story that you have heard that is actually true is a Slipstream on a Subaru. This was in the first year of production and the issue was taken care of.

So stop bashing each other's rims people. You make a decision every time you buy anything. Why blindly hate on someone beacause of a wheel purchase? (unless they are 20's, then hate away) j/k

k
It was the Subzero rim, not the Slipstream. And it broke because the Suby were going all out on the curbs.

I ran Rota Slipstream on my GSR before my Z. I loved it. Light, cheap, and extremely durable. Classic 5-spoke good looks. Just like the Rota P45R.

You guys are funny as hell though!

Let's stop arguing about rims and worry more about how our non-Brembo's retarded, *****, absolutely POS, brakes look through our Rotas and Volks. Goddamn everytime I look at the stock brakes through my 6-spoke stock 18's I just want to puke.

I think everyone should be mandated by law that if you are going to upgrade to 19" rims and above, you need to get a BBK to hide the pussiness that is the stock brakes.

I kid I kid HAHHAHHAHAHHA!!!!

LOL @ people thinking I was putting down Volks. I mean, I'm rolling on RAYS wheels for godsake!

Yes RAYS makes great wheels but for street purposes you are not going to make the most out of that wheel. Rotas are the best choice in quality for the buck.

Obviously Volks are a social status or looks thing more than anything else because you won't get the advantage of them on the street... and if you are racing on the tracks with your Volks well I think that's just stupid.

That's my input for the night.

I looked at the Rotas, but they don't make 19" or staggered P45R... Price is right though.

No stagger? You mean there's only one wheel width available?

Just about every company jocks the BBS style wheel. Including Rays, Work, etc.

There is a staggered setup, 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. Most people run the 18x9.5 all around though.

Thanks for all your input Wheels@suby! Volks are obviously great wheels, but to say Rota's are a bad product sounds incorrect. I definitely agree with you on that. They are just not the BEST out there. Some of us don't require the BEST. We'd rather pay our mortgage and invest.

Though there are a VERY few people on here that can afford to buy whatever the hell they want. There are a lot that pretend. An Anesthesiologist that roams around here is probably one doesn't have to pretend.....

Ponder this, if you were to ask said anesthesiologist if he sprang for the bad *** wheels when he was in college or taking internships. I would guess to say that he had to save for rent next month.

America is full of 30K a year millionaires. Some people on here need to ask themselves if they fit into that category before judging the purchasing decisions of others.

BTW those rims look SICK!

From a quick glance....the two people knocking Rotas are:
1. A Waiter
2. A Student

Probably not the two best people to take financial advice from.
