I've been looking at all the posts I can find about the wheel spacers and I love the look but am wondering about the tires hitting the inside lip of the wheel well. It seems that flush is what most are doing but one of the links I looked at that shows how to measure for the spacer thickness you can get away with says to measure from the outside of the tire/wheel (whichever sticks out the furthest) to the inside of the wheel well. On the rear there is a 1/2" lip that looks to me like it will hit the tire and it doesn't seem to be that much room to move them outward.

My goal is to add spacers to my stock 18" wheels to make them flush. I just want to know if there will be an issue with the tires hitting the lip. I know there are several discussions on this but it seems like flush is working well for most of you and they seem to be lowered most of the time. Did you also have to modify the "lip" or anything else to make it work or is there not that much suspension travel to make it an issue. My car isn't lowered yet and I don't plan to lower it any more than .6 or .7".

BTW, 2005 Black Roadster Touring with 18" Touring stock wheels. Sorry if this has been addressed but from all the searches I've done I'm still unsure if I'll be fine with the 20-25mm spacers.

 

I believe there was a guy with a black Z hardtop that had 25mm on the back but switched to 20mm because they stuck out too much and rubbed???

I had 15mm on my stock 18's with no rub and probably could have used 20mm without rolling.

mine dont rub...running with 25mm spacers and GF210's

 

I have 2007 with 18s stock. 25mm on all 4 corners, No rub at all.

 

not trying to thread jack but what brand spacers are better to use? does it matter? I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

 

do you have to knock off the stock nuts and put on the new longer nuts..or just put it over the stock one? please advise

 

You mean wheels studs, not nuts and yes you need longer ones.

 

25mm spacers will have the studs built in. They are a direct bolt on. Pretty easy. I say go with 25mm all around for a completely flush look. They will not rub. I recommend H&R spacers but get whatever you want.

 

What about this set-up, 18" Nismo wheels with Hotchkis sport springs. Are the offsets the same as stock?

 

Get the spacers. Don't turn this into rocket science. It will be fine.

 

...Yeah, I'm gonna get the spacers but my question is what size. Do the Nismo wheels have the same offset as stock? I like the look of the 25mm all-around on the stock wheels but I don't want the wheels/tires to be beyond flush. I guess I'm asking if anyone here is running a set-up similar to mine and could offer some insight.
