somebody slashed my tires
Okay, so some punk in irvine slashed two of my tires, two diagonal ones, namely the driver rear, and passenger front (i'm potentially selling my other two so pleas e see my thread in the marketplace). I'm therefore looking to buy new tires, and my buddy is recommending Toyo Proxes T1R's, and Yokohama...not sure the model for this. Anyway, I'll trust his opinion for now, but....i had stock sizes:
225/45R18 and 245/45R18...so I wanted to take this chance and maybe try some upgrading. I have 06' base stock rims. Can somebody please recommend some fatter tires for me, size wise? I don't want anything too crazy, just a bit fatter, so it looks a little nicer/flusher and can still fit stock rims. Thanks!

Hmm, i got some azenis rt-615 on my 06 z. veryy good tires, lots of grip. Went 255/40/18 and 225/45/18, also added in a 5mm spacer in the, noticeable difference over stock...

It was MEEEEE!! Bwahahaha... ha... ha!
I just saw the stock tires and I happened to have my Swiss Army knife with me and considering the fact that 45 sidewall tires are a sign of Satan, I just did my civic duty.
If I didn't mention it before, IT WAS MEEEEE!!!

I got Toyo T1's once and was very disappointed with them. Car just wouldn't turn-in the same, steering feedback was lessened as well. Definitely not what I was expecting from a performance tire.
For wider tires on stock rims, you need 245/40 and 265/40 to keep the sizes optimal.
If you do 245/40 and 255/40, your front tire is 1 % smaller and the rear 1.3% taller, you could have problems with VDC.
The problem with the 265/40 rear is that it's a wide tire for a 8.5 wide rim.
I just ordered some Potenza RE050, as they were well priced. For a bit more cash there's the Continental Sport Contact 3 and Michelin Pilot sport, great tires both. I can't praise the Michelin PS2 enough.
Best tire is the Eagle F1 but I couldn't find them in 225/45/18
