Default Should I go with Volks 19s or 18s?

I'm thinking of going with this setup

+34 front 255/35/19
+36 rear wheel 285/30/19

Think thats a good way to go?

I dont have much experience in offset or what not, so i really need help in this department

you want no more then a +30, for an aggressive look low 20's. your offsets will look terrible.

wow thanks for telling me, what would be the perfect setup for Sf challenge 19s?

would i lose performance on the Z if i went with the 19s?

You need to list what wheel widths you plan to use also. Most people around here running Volks with those tire sizes have 9.5" wide front, 10.5" wide rears. And assuming you want to get the wheels looking like they are pushed out toward the fenders you would probably want to get offsets somewhere in mid to low 20's. Keep in mind that with 10.5" wide rears, offsets in the 20's and 285 wide tires you may need to roll your rear fenders to keep the fender lip away from the edge of the tire.

What width wheels ? 8½/9½, 9½/10½? To some extent, that drives your offsets.

In general, the larger the diameter of the wheels, there is a performance penalty. A lot depends on the weight of the wheels and tires together.

My 19's weigh a lot less than my 18's did so theoretically I don't suffer that much loss.

See the point for me is, I want to make a it look as nice as possible, without taking out performance or rolling fenders, How do I go in accomplishing that look?

Might break even performance wise with SF Challenges. Don't quote me on this but I think they should weigh roughly the same per wheel as the 18" stockers (i.e. the 2006/2007 non-Rays OEM wheels). The 19's are bigger, but the rim on the SF Challenge is forged so you don't have a ridiculous amount of weight distributed toward the outside, which keeps the inertia of the wheel in check (i.e. can be accelerated to speed more easily).

If you want the look where the wheels/tires are pushed way out, you will most likely need to roll your fenders. Many of the 19"x10.5" wheels with lower offset (say mid-20s or lower) will require fender rolling for anything over a 275 series tire.

Another option, which actually cuts down on rotational weight/intertia would be to get 9.5" wide wheels for the front and rear, but get lower offsets on the rears and then use spacers to push them outward. Only issue then is that you would have the same rim width front and rear, so you would probably have to run similar size tires on all 4 corners.

This all depends on the tire size homie. Low 20's on a 10.5" RIM isn't the answer for those who want beefy tires in the rear.

+1, some people like to do smaller width/offset and put relatively wider tires on, while others like to stretch the tires over a wider wheel so the shiny rims pop out.

a. Find a members set up that you like, and duplicate it.

or

b. Contact one of a wheel vendors. They will sell you the right stuff. No need to make guesses.

very true, 275's will fit with no rolling, beefy enough for most. little camber helps too.

simple - stick to either 8.5, 9.5 front and 9.5 or 10.5 rear, mid to high 20's offsets, and you'll be fine - will look good, but not so aggressive that you will need to roll things

make sure you check your alignment afterwards, as you might end up out of spec due to the extra width of things

You need lower offsets than that. Go 20's...or at least 19's

This is probably the best advice I've heard from a sponsor and a great reason to go with Adam for your wheel needs. There was a time when I knew less about wheels and was misguided by vendors who told me I would have no problems with a +21 rear offset/10.5" wheel and 295's.
