Curb rash happens, now what do I do?
Well I finally managed to give my left front wheel a nice 1 1/2 inch rash. Took a nice little chip out too
Don't even ask me how it happend because I have no idea. I know it wasn't a curb though. I think it might have actually been a pot hole.
So now what? It's on my polished lip. Do I need to do anything to prevent further damage? What about rust??
I'm steaming but I knew it was going to happen eventually. What about touch up paint for polished lips?? How often if at all do you guys/gals get your lips re-polished?? As you can tell I'm a NOOOOOOOOOB when it comes curb rash. I'm just about to
I'm so pissed...help please. Thanks

If it's not too bad, you can grind out the rash, and then polish the area with increasingly finer sand paper. If it's a deep gash, you may need to take it to a professional wheel repairer (many of them are mobile and will come pick up the wheel).
Hey, see if you can find something similar to this.

Another vote for mobile wheel repair. I was getting three rims straightened (potholes), and they repaired curb rash on one of them for $30. It would probably be more than $30 if you're not having other work done, but probably still reasonable.

If I were you, I'd definitely have it done professionally, just my $0.02.

I appreciate EVERYONES response to this thread. I'm extremely pissed about it because I'm overly cautious when I drive and the one time I take my eyes off the road in a turn BAM!
