Question Tire size gurus, need your help

I just put my new Enkei RP03s on my stock Bridgestones and I'm not liking how much they are stretched.

My Enkeis are 18x9 +18 (fronts) and 18x10 +22 (rears). My stock tires are the Bridgestone RE050As, 225/45 (fronts) 245/45 (rears).

I'm thinking of getting the Bridgestone RE960AS All-seasons. I want to get a wide enough tire that they aren't stretched and I also want to make sure that I stay within the "3% rule" so that my VDC doesn't freak out. Uh, I'd also like to turn without rubbing.

These are my options at Tirerack.com:
245/40
245/45
265/35
275/35
275/40

Do I go with the 245/40 in front and the 275/40 in the rear?

255/40/18 fronts and 275/40/18 is your best possible option. They will have the exact same diameter as your stock tires. However, if the 255 for the fronts are not available, you should be fine with 245's - they will just be slightly smaller. However, with a 9" width on the front rim, the 245's might be a bit stretched. The 255's should be a better fit.

Try 275/35/18 F and 275/40/18 R i have rp03's also, 18x9.5 +38mm except i used a 15mm hub extender at the front so my offsets are something like +23F and +38R

I forgot - a lot of people do say that the 40 profile on the rear looks a bit too fat. If you can do 35 and stay within the 3% for the VDC then that's probably the way to go. Just use the calculator and it should give you a pretty accurate %.

I would try to look around for pictures of the different sizes so you're not disappointed when you see them mounted.

Thanks for the help guys! I WOULD like to go bigger in the front if the 245's are gonna be stretched, that's what I'm trying to get away from now.

Tienlo, did you have to roll your front fender? Do the 275's rub???

with +18 in the front, 275's might stick out. and you can't roll the front fenders...there's nothing there to roll.

Why would you want shorter tires in the back?

Remember rim width effects tire height , the 245's on 9 will be shorter than on an 8 or 8.5 , so 255's would probably be a better choice.

But also keep in mind the Z's tires are taller in the back. Factory rolling diameters are ~26" front and 26.6" rears.
