Question Alignment question..

The guy putting on my rims Friday said that he knows for sure with 10.5" wheels, you cant get the rear alignment back to spec. Is this always true? I read some people on here said they got it back without any camber or toe kits..

If he can't, what do I need to buy and how much does it run and cost to install? Thanks

I dont think the wheels width alone has anything to do with your alignment. I think it also depends on the type of spring that you get. What type of spring are you using?

I got my alingment done last week at West Covina, looks like the aligment is w/in factory spec with my 10.5 width rear wheels and Tanabe GF210 springs without any camber or toe kit.

+100

Because changing wheels do nothing to the suspension. I can change wheels all day long and it wont make any difference to the alignment.

It's always a good idea to get an alignment when putting new wheels on. I agree once you have it done, as long as you don't hit curbs etc... it shouldn't change. But as time goes by things move and if you haven't had your alignment done recently, I'd do it. Just my $.02

the price for alignments differs everywhere...ask ppl in your area where they get theirs done...so you can get the most reputable place do it!

if you plan on doing any suspension work...wait to do your alignment until you get your suspension work done. if you get springs or coilovers...wait until they settle until you get an alignment! good luck to ya!

i got my alignment at firestone. i got the lifetime deal which was like $160. i watched them the whole time so they were careful and didn't mess my wheels up.

I got that same deal from them when I had my Acura CL-S. But, it was only like $115.00 for the lifetime deal when I got it done. All I had to do was get it done twice and I made my money back. I don't think my car can get on their racks now to get it aligned. I'll probably have to go to NTB.

I wouldn't think wheel sizing would have changed your alignment, but I could be wrong,

chaning wheels sizes w/o suspension changes, you won't NEED an alignment. but like the others said, it's a good idea to get an alignment every once in a while just to be safe. no need to do it immediately after the new rims.
