Default Another TPMS Victim

Well, I've officially had the car for 5 days now and I've manged to put around 300 miles on it - and today I get the TPMS warning light flashing and then it stays on - looks like a malfunction already!!

I hope the dealer takes care of it and they better not charge me for this!!!

Anybody else have this problem very early on with your car?

before you get all bent out of shape......what is the tire pressure (cold) of all four tires? TPMS sytems have thresholds both above and below a certain psi. if the high threshold is say 43 psi and you tires are 40 psi cold then when you drive and they heat up, this will set of a warning lamp. the car is still under warranty, just calm down and let the dealer fix it. also you could have a tire that is low.....check the pressure on the pod on the dash.

It came on in my 06 a few days after I took it home. If pressure in tires is ok take it back and they will reset the TPMS.

unfortunately Nissan didn't give us 07 owners the luxary of the monitor system in the POD. We only get the warning light....pretty lame. i was disapointed.

Possibly you have a nail in one tire and it really is low?

Victim? I didn't know that the TPMS was known for victimizing Z owners.

I assume you read your owners manual and know what the TPMS warning light is all about. If so, you would have checked the pressure in the tires first to see if they are all good.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments! Yeah, I've checked out the owners manual and also checked the tire pressure today. I had already read about the cars being shipped with the tire pressure higher than the recommended psi, so I changed the tire pressure to 35 first thing. I rechecked them today when the light was on and everything seemed fine also - so it blows my mind why the light is giving me the "quick flash, then staying solid" which means "the tmps system is malfunctioning" according to the manual - then later today it went off and now tonight it's back to "quick flash for a minute, then solid"...maybe one of the sensors is bad and is only sending a signal half of the time?

Oh and for the "victimizing" part in the title - I had noticed a few other threads about the problem, so I was just venting

Mine went off too. Turns out I had a nail in the passenger side rear tire. $20 to fix.

My 06 has had the TPMS reset two times, a new sensor installed once and again reset once since the new sensor --- the dealer is clueless as to what the issue could be.

Anyone else had this problem?? any sucess in getting it fixed??
