Tire ? for 19x9.5, 19x10.5 set-up.
After buying an 06 SS Z last september, I've finally gotten around to my first aftermarket wheels. TE37 time attack 19x9.5/10.5. I'm also getting what I believe is a killer deal on a set of new Bridgestone Potenza S-03's 245/35F, 275/35R.
This set-up would be 4mm smaller in diameter than the stock wheels and tires in the front and 2mm smaller in diameter than stock in the rear. My question is wether 245 on a 9.5 width and 275 on 10.5 width will be too stretched. Ideally, I would have liked to go no less than 255F and 285R, but through one of those friend-of-a-friend type of deals, I can get all four of the aformentioned tires for $670 (new) and that may be too good to pass up, as long as it's not compromising safety and performance.
So? ...245/275 ok? Thanks.
Edit: I'll post pics once the wheels are on.

i just got a set of wheels in the same sizes as you, but I'm running 255 F and 285 R 35s tires. As "MethodRN" said 245 & 275 will be a little streched but alot of people run that setup. $670 - that's a nice deal!

not much point (in my eyes) getting gigunda wheels and not having meaty tires to go with them. The bigger tire makes the car look wider, grip better, and offers increased curb protection - win, win, win

I suppose that means I'm running the thinnest 19-inch tires here...Toyo Proxes T1R: 255/30 front and 275/30 rear, no problems at all, and yes they are stretched. however, i prefer that look myself, and they still have a 300 treadwear rating with AA traction. $640 is a great deal...these toyos mounted and balanced were $1190.
2 things about the above statement you fail to mention:
1) bigger tires may make the car look wider, but they make the wheel look smaller. I swear my 19s got bigger when I switched to a 30-series.
2) bigger tires cause more problems with camber. When I was running 35-series Advan Sports, I couldn't pull the rear camber back past -3 without raising the coilovers back up. with the 30-series toyo's, there's enough gap that I could go all the way to 0 degrees without changing the ride height.
And as for treadwear, my 35-series Yokos had a 180 treadwear rating, my thinner 30-series toyo's have a 300 rating. (and they're both the same AA traction rated).
