Default Ok to use 225 on rear? (Winter tires)

Someone is selling a pair of 225/45/18 snow shoes, and I want to snag them. But I'm not sure if it's okay to mount 225s on the rear rim since it's .5 wider. Any adherent risks I'll be running or not? I have a Touring, btw with TC.

Do you have VDC?
How wide is the wheel?
What size tire do you intend to run in front?

Like I said in my other thread, it's on the OEM rims. And I'm going to find another 225/45 for the front.
