Default Those with Volk GT-C's.

I just placed my order for a set of 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 Volk GT-C's with streetsports. I'm a little worried about fitment issues, but i figure John350z was able to fit his TE-37's i should be able to fit these GT-C's. Now that i think about, how did you mount the tire pressure sensors on the new wheels? I'd like to keep them if at all possible. I searched the forums and couldn't really find a good answer. I wonder if anyone makes some sort of band to attach the sensor to the middle of the wheel (i've heard of some of the Vette guys having to do this). Anyways, does anyone have any ideas? My wheels wont be here till June, so i have a bit of time to figure stuff out, but i'd like to have a plan of attack before they get here. Thanks a million.

Ok, now that i think about it... one more question. Should i have ordered an 8.5 front, 9.5 rear combo instead? I mean, it looks like 245s on the front and 275's on the back look a bit 'stretched'. I havent seen a Z with that size GT-C's either. If i wanted to go 285 rear and 255 front, would it be to tall of a tire for the car and mess up the VDC? I can still change my order if i have too, but now im a little worried about it. I don't really want to make a mistake with this much money on the line. But then again, if I get the 9.5's and i find out the 10.5's work just fine, i'll be kicking my self all the way to the poor house... Ugh, so many questions!

I don't know, what do you guys think? 9.5 and 10.5 or just back to the safe 8.5 and 9.5 sizes?

well with the offset of +24 for the 9.5/10.5 combo, if you lower the car im sure youd have to roll fenders. if no drop, it will probably be close. im not so sure about the 8.5/9.5 combo.
as far as the tire size, my research has concluded that the 245/275 combo on the rims that you ordered is within the acceptable range of rim widths. however they will indeed looked stretched. i dont know how that will hamper performance though. i think john350z is running the same setup. check out his pics in the gallery

Yeah, i saw his pics, which is what made me think the 245/275 combo looked to stretched. Im wondering if a 255/285 (at 35) combo would still be ok. It would look a little bit better. My only fear is that the VDC or TCS would not work properly. I'm increasing the size of the 2 tires together, to keep the difference between them the same, but i dont know how the car would like having a bit larger tires. If someone who has this combo, says it'll work, i'll call and change my order as soon as i can. The only problem being i wanted the Toyo Proxies, and i don't think they come in 285/35. I might have to go with S-03's or something. Anyways, let me know what you guys think about going to the larger tire. Thanks.

Ok, i really gotta know, will a 255/285 combo work with the car? I've got to call and change my order as soon as i possible. Personally, i think it will, but i want to make sure before i go off and mess up my VDC. I think the best tires i can get in 285 are the new Continental ContiSport Contact 2's or the Falken GR Beta FK-451's. Let me know if you guys have any other fav. brands. Thanks.

according to the tire calculator that is posted in this forum, you should be just fine. the 255/35/19 is the same diameter as the stock setup. its actually closer to stock than the 245/35/19. as for the rear, the 285/35/19 will be 0.2" bigger overall than stcok. the 275/45/19 will be only 0.1" bigger. i dont know how that affects the abs or vdc. anybody know? on that note, why does everyone go for the 245/35 front rather than the 255/35 if its closer in spec with stock rolling diameter?

Yep. I'm pretty sure 245/275 looks perfect on a 8.5/9.5. I think i've pretty much decided to go 255/35 front and 285/35 rear (if i can find them). If I can't find a good set of 285/35, I'll do 285/30. I could be totaly off base here, but it seems like its close enough (or maybe 295/30?). There's just to many options!

I think you'll be fine with the 245's and 275's...every Z i've seen runnin 9.5 and 10.5 is runnin these sizes with no problem...my rims havent come in yet, but I've seen john350Z's car in person and the tires dont look stretched, they looked ok IMO.

Well, im half tempted to call and change my order to 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears.. then run a 245/275 combo. But damnit, i want that lip!

Ugh, i should just be on the safe side. Guess i could always sell these rims later after someone else trys a 10.5 / 285 combo.

Well, i just got off the phone with Street Sports. Looks like im not going to be able to cancel my order for the 10.5's. They say its because they are a special order. No big deal. I guess this is a sign, i need to get the 10.5's.

I figure i'll get them and see what they look like, if i end up not liking them (yeah, right), I can always just pick up a couple 8.5's and put them on the front. So its not a total loss. Now i just have to find someone i can trust to roll my fenders. I'm afraid a shop is just going to roll them up all sloppy. You need to add some sort of sealent so you dont trap water and dirt in the fold, and then you have to repaint and reseal so that you dont rust. Ugh, all of this for a little bling. Guess i HAVE to get a turbo or supercharger to make up for the increased bing factor. haha

DrCold: if you don't mind me asking, were you able to confirm the offsets you ordered (front and rear)?
