is this tire set-up ok?
hey guys,
i was messin around tonight and i was wonding about tire sizes. i am gettin some rims, not to be said yet, that are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 offsett 25 and 28 repectively. i was thinking 275s would look good, but it is really overkill for me. do you think a 255/40 combo would work in the rear instead? i would be running 245/40's in the front. i will eventually go up to the 275 size when my plan for FI comes into play, but i think a 255 in the rear would be fine as it is.
what do you guys think? ok?
please discuss any pro's/con's about this.
also btw, i am goin to try out a set of bridgestone pole potenzas S0-2's not the S0-3's.
thanks

I think raceboy has 245/40 F and 255/45 Rear (maybe 255/40 R) and he uses the S03's and hasn't reported any problems.
I just replaced my front tires and went to a 245/40, so now I have a 245/40 Yokohama AVS ES100 in front and the OEM 245/45's in the rear. I haven't had any problems.
I think you should be fine with the tires.
Can't help with the wheels, although given some of the wheels people are using (20", etc) I think you'd be fine there too.
