Let the Mods begin!
O.K., here's what I am looking at getting (I have the Track model):
Suspension: Tein Flex v. Nismo S-tune
Yeah, I did say that I was going to buy S-tune but, after reading more about Tein Flex with EDFC, I'm not 100% sure about Nismo.
Tein
Pros: Adjustability from inside cabin. Is the height adjustable to?
Cons: Not warranted by Nissan. More expensive that S-tune. Would need to buy separate sway bars. (How are the Cusco sway bars? Is Cusco a reputable company?)
Nismo
Pros: Warranted by Nissan. Made for the car by those who "should" know the car best.
Cons: Not adjustable.
JIC-I chose not to get this because of all the complaints of poor customer service.
Other's-haven't heard enough about them on this site to consider them
Brake Pads: I still have the stock, but I am looking to upgrade to higher performance. My Z is a good weather street car and track/autocross car.
I am looking at the following pads:
Hawk HP+, HPS?(I thought this was not better than the Track pads?); Bobcats, Panther's; Maybe EBC's?
Nismo radiator cap (higher pressure), oil cap (looks), front and rear emblems, and gas cap.
Stereo-maybe. Performance is first, but I may upgrade. Any recs to keep cost below 1K? Thinking about Alpine headunit for sure (which model?), what about the rest? Do I really need to change out the speaker's, or is the change in head unit enough?
Future-Mods such as ECU and other engine parts, transmission, differential, etc., I will wait to see what results show.
Here's a list of my current mods:
Nut behind wheel-have gone to track and autocross events (very humbling yet fun)-THIS IS A MUST MOD!!!!
Tires-SO3's
Insaneamine Grounding kit
Escort SR7 without diffuser
Clear bra
Wheel lock nuts
Mobile1 engine oil
Redline transmission/differential oil
ATE Blue Brake fluid
Thoughts, comments, questions and especially recommendations all welcome.
Thanks!
