Is it a age thing?
I ma in mid 40s. i have a 05 Z coupe. When my 17's wear out I am going to get some aftermarket 18's. I see all these gold wheels and black wheels. I hear all the flaming about chrome wheels. I persoanly thing the Black and gold rims are ugly in most cases. I have seen some gold wheels on the gold color Z that look nice and I have seen some black wheels that look good on some black cars. Back in the day of the muscle car everyone had chrome rims on their cars. I still love chrome rims. Is it a age thing?

just like anything else...personal preference and possibly a bit of growing up in different generations with different trends, etc.

I don't think its really your age but your mind frame there are a lot of young people putting chrome wheels on there Z's as well, as long as its a good looking rim I couldn't see why you shouldn't put it on, but I would never rock chrome rims on a sports car....Polished yes, but chrome? EWWWW

Excellent topic.
I'm 28 years old, and I think chrome looks tacky on a 350Z. Although I like the black wheels with a polished lip, I prefer silver wheels. I have a set of SSR GT7's and and a set of Gram Light 57c's, both silver.
I think the reason that the older generation likes chrome is because they remember the old muscle cars which usually had chrome bumpers, grills, and door handles to match the chrome wheels. There are few chrome accents on the 350Z. Now look at our door handles, the rear 350Z badge and the round Z badge behind the front wheels. Polished aluminium is the new chrome.

I think it is age related. One of these days I'm gonna put chrome rims on the Brick. But I grew up in the 50/60s when chrome was king.
Everytime chrome comes up here, the young studs on the site gag.
By the way, glad to see some votes for chrome above!

^ Wow, thats pretty sexy though. Im not a fan of chrome really. Im only 23 y/o. I have a set of black wheels with a polished lip, and set of Pro GN+'s in silver. I had my stockers painted in bronze for a little bit and I loved it. I never really considered an all out chrome rim though. Then again, I try and go for performance over looks, and chrome really doesnt go very well with that. That in itself could be the issue with a lot of younger people, and just wanting to go fast rather then showy!

It must be an age thing. I'm 43 and I really like my chromes. Here's a photo of what the car looked like when I bought it. I've added a spoiler, air duct and other stuff since, but I still like the rims. Sorry kids, old guys like chrome.
