Im getting four new tires and this is what my friend has. Will this work w no issues? I have the 19" Forged rims off the g35s?

Also is it normal to have a thicker tire up front??

The 2nd number represent the percentage of the width. go here: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

NOOBS!

XXX/XX/XX YR

First Number is the WIDTH of tire in millimeters. I have 285 rear, 245 front.

Second number is the Aspect Ratio or heigth of the sidewall in millimeters.

Third Number is the size of rim that the tire was meant to fit on.

The letters are the speed rating of the tires, Y is the highest rating at 186+ mph.

Youre setup is fine OP. its normal for the numbers to be like that.

Okay, here's some help since you are lost. I have G35 19" wheels also. You can run two combinations...

225/40/19
245/40/19

OR (like me)

235/35/19
255/35/19

The second option works, is barely off from stock, and I found the Goodyear Eagle F1's (and BF Goodrich KDW2's) cheaper in the second option.

And here are your wheels sizes for future reference.
Fronts: 19 x 8 +33(or +30) offset
Rears: 19 x 8.5 +33(or +30) offset
I forget the offset, but it is neligible.

BTW, your sizes are too small meaning the overall height is not big enough. Look here http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

i dunno about that. i bought some rear tires to replace my brother drag radials and they were 30 series in the rear while the fronts were 35 series. the traction control went nuts. it was cutting power into and out of turns. made the poor kid fear for his life. his set up was something like 255/35/18F and 285/30/18R

i'd stick with something that has the same series wall.

for me, i run: 255/35/19 fronts and 275/35/19 rear

i'd suggest you talk to one of the sponsors about the tires. they probably have the best info.

ok cnin... I'm sorry, I asked for rim specs... I more meant 'what is the width'. you can say (for example): 19x8.5f 19x9.5r

and if you do the math, or use a tire size calculator you can figure out what the overall diameter will be between the front and back

this is not a blanket statement. it depends on the staggered fitment you are using.

if you used the same size tires front and rear, with different profiles (i.e. 245/35 245/30)

you have to do the math to see if the 225/255 size is compatable! unless someone addressed the exact sizes you mentioned.
