Just look at the design, no one in their right mind chose those wheels for performance/weight. The stepped lips and extra thick spokes+3 piece bolt design=heavy. Also, A forged piece and a cast piece of the same dimensions/volumed will always weigh more than the cast piece, its denser. Most performance forged wheels save weight because they can make the wheels thinner. Not the case with the meister unfortanetly.

I think you hit it right on the head minus one point. You mention that they can make the wheels thinner in forged wheels but this is due to the more uniform and stronger grain structure. This is the key point in weight savings for a forged wheel.

...you know not to get sidetracked, but these pics remind me of when I had my "accident" in my Z. I had Nismo LMGT4 , of course forged , and I hopped up over a curb at a fairly decent speed, and the wheels did not even bend... Small knick in the coating, that was it. Rota's are ok, but under higher strength impacts I do have to put faith in a stronger wheel...

now don't get me wrong, i've seen OEM wheels shatter in impacts first hand even... Money CAN pay for better quality.

you are a moron, seriously. why don't you post up the actual story of what happened with that EXACT picture posted. That guy swerved going 60mph+ to avoid a deer in the road, his car went off the road sideways and hit a cement embankment and the car FLIPPED serveral times. I guess you would expect for a rim to hold up to that abuse....

Rotora brakes are not very good IMO. But I am basing this off actual experience's unlike you...

which broken wheel picture of the fake/replica/poorly made wheel are you refering to?

whats your basis on rotora brakes? i worked/independently contracted with them, thus i know why they break/suck/fail. i can go into more depth on what makes rotoras pieces of ****, but certain (cheap) people on this site may get mad just like the people who are like you defending rotas poor quality.

in the end, rotas suck, no way around that one, they are of poor design in their casting process and their quality control is bloew poor. ever been to the factory? probably not, because if you would have seen what i saw as to what materials they are using, you would just shut up. but then again, i am a moron....

Look at 18" rota torques, there's a nice pair in the marketplace now. If your set on getting 19"s look at volk te37's , but thats gonna be substantially more than the rota's.

I know many people are very against rota rims, but in my experience's they've performed very well.

werd, that pic has been discussed about that on many forums before, and the hater always lost...

daytona350z - I've drove cars with both sets of brakes, etc... lots of hands on with rotora brakes and when comparing to other BBK's there are better choices.

I have not personally been to the Rota plant but I do know many people that have been. I have seen pictures and video of the plant and there is nothing shocking that goes into the wheels. Not sure what other lies you are going to come up with next?

not lies, but first hand experience, have you yourself seen the plant? no guess not as you admitted, have you seen their casting techniques, no you havent, have you seen their quality control lines, no you havent. get off the rota bandwagon...

no sh*t rotora brakes are crap, i wasnt saying they were of any quality...

+1 Rotas are complete crap for wheels, I had a set on for a week and they cracked on me. However none of my volks have ever given me any problems. On my old car I crashed at around 60 sliding sideways into a wall and the only thing that happened to them was it smashed up my the lip on the barrel but spokes remained perfectly in tact.

correction: lip is ok, just not a chrome/polished lip. Black is fine.
Miro and Avante Garde both make concave 19s in black. They might not be gloss but could be clear coated.
