Default beefier tires

ok, i've spent more time searching these forums than I did studying in college. I'm looking for a beefier tire for the stock 06' enthusiast 18" rim. Has anyone seen anything bigger than the 245's?
How are 35 sidewalls? Too thin?

let me know what setups some of you guys have.
and if there is an appropriate post prior to this, just lead me in the right direction.

I would go 245/40/18F and 255/45/18R. Those the widest tires you can safely fit on those widths.

this is where the dilemma lies, won't a 255/45 look tall and disproportionate?
geez, did I spell that right?

Its only 9mm taller than stock in the rear, hardly noticeable.

I think you can go :
245/35/18 in the front
and in the back
275/35/18 they will fill the wheel wells just fine, without rolling the fenders.

This is the setup I have on my Z car and I also have the car lowered 1.5 inches in the rear & 1.0 inches in the front. The car looks way agressive and the handling in to die for

Those tires are WAY shorter than stock, why would you choose those sizes? 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 are the correct sizes to match the stock diameters in those widths. Also, 275 is too wide to fit on an 8.5" wheel safely. I would not suggest this to anyone at all.

Agreed. Maybe he didn't see the part where the OP was asking about tire size on the stock rims? That's my guess.

If you want wider tires, do it right and get wider wheels.

If you are studying in college consider joining The SAE and the Tire Society to learn a bit about tires. Student memberships are cheap.

Those tires fit perfectly. Straight up square setup. Nice!

thanks for the compliment. I can't wait forthe springs to get here. The rear of my car has so much clearance from the tires its ridiculous. This combo won't be on th ecar more than a month or two though. GreddyTT later this month, so will be looking for some Volks or Works with 10.5 rear.
