Default Direzza DZ101 vs. Falken FK542

I participate in ameture drift events and have been using Dunlop's Direzza DZ101, recommended by a friend of mine. Of course there are much better tires out there, but these have very good drifting performance for the price and I am pleased with them. Anyhow, I was checking around and noticed that Falken's FK452 has similar specs, is availible in the sizes I need (235/45R17 & 245/45R17) and is about $8 per tire cheaper. At the rate I go through tires, that will add up to a hundred dollars pretty quick. So, I was going to try them until I read about them on Falken's web site. Falken seems to promote them as V.I.P. tires and that seemed a little confusing to me.

Does anyone have personal experience with this tire or opinions of this tire, especially with drifting? Also, recommendations are welcome.
