Aggressive Wheels and Stretched Tires....Welcome

I'm all about some good wheel fitment, but not at the expense of having to sacrifice my car's handling. You rarely see anyone with a crazy stance racing, drifting, dragging, or whatever. From whatever I see, its mostly just about the meets and get togethers, which is totally cool as long as there is no misinformation about the functionality of it.
I'm sure that is considered hating on by the people who run Hellaflush, but I honestly don't get it. My speculation is that since most people in Cali can't get away with running ridiculous engine modifications, they resort to aesthetic stuff that they won't get nabbed for.

^you can still get a ticket for being too low ( i've gotten one) and also for having your wheels stick out too much therefore your speculation is wrong. Most of the things we do to our cars in general are either illegal for street use or looked down upon anyways, but that doesn't stop anyone modding their cars do they?

Our two weeks are up in here already? Someone else comes along and doesn't "get it."?
Most people with OEM/ standard cars don't understand car modding in general so this sub-sub-sub-culture dissent is nothing new.
If everyone understood, we'd have thousands of Z's jammed up at dipped intersections...so I guess there's a positive to the naysayers.
As far as the comments on Californians sticking to aesthetic mods because they have stringent laws out here...I call bs. Go to any big Z meet here. You couldn't throw a rock without it landing on a dozen cars with a vip pass to the state ref.

either a part of your car has to be lower than the lowest part of your rim (on 18's i doubt that's going to happen) or your headlights have to be lower than 22". you aren't going to get pulled over for a little pokeage unless you're driving a giant jeep with no mudflaps. technically, your wheels/tires aren't allowed to touch your car and your car isn't allowed to touch the ground during "normal driving". there are so many ways to define "normal driving" it's laughable. you must have been doing something else wrong to get a ticket for being too low or you just have the worst luck and the lowest z in the world.
Picture of my ticket
here is a thread on vipstylecars who got a ticket for his wheels sticking out too much
http://www.vipstylecars.com/forums/s...ghlight=ticket
I understand his pokeage was extreme cause he was on bags, but im just stating facts that you can get a ticket for anything by doing things to your car. And no my z is not the lowest, but it was pretty low with some 30 series tires on a previous setup that was almost like rubber bands. Thanks for your ignorance and waste of my time.
