I sure am and I do go sometimes but I don't really like drag racing. As far as the wheel set up, I can understand what you are doing if it's strictly drag setup. Couldn't you just get some really light 17s? How big of a tire can you get on a 7.5" wheel?

yeah its not for everyone, if im out there in a maxima you know i must be pretty into it aye ? lol ! over in new zealand they only run in classes. i race in all motor and since NZ is such a small place you only need to reach mid 12's to be competitive. 90% of the all motor class is made up of hondas, and the civics are running mid 12's.

I wanted to take a shot with the Z33 and see if it would be possible to reach 12's. given ive seen a few manual Z33's run 13.8's stock a mod like (wheels and tires) could potential bump me down to 13.5. Then all thats left is to lose 6 tenths of a second with weight reduction and mods. Lots of if's but i think it can be done.

anyways i appreciate everyones input and help.

It seems that if you would just use a wider 16 or 17 and a much wider tire, that would keep you with better traction which may result in a little faster time.

the tires are hoosier drag radials, they pull 1.9 60 foots on prepped tracks over here, on unprepped 2.0-2.1 and keep in mind this is in a fwd maxima. i would say they are pretty slick.

12.99 seconds or better is one heck of a goal for a all-motor 350Z. Only 3 members have accomplished this:

1. AudibleMayhem ---Built Block -03 Tour 6spd 12.338@110.18mph 1.700 60ft Slicks
2. Sfarrah ----------------------03 Enth 6spd 12.876@107.81mph 1.750 60ft DR's
1. Gooey -------------------------- 07 Enth 6spd 12.947@107.11mph 1.796 60ft Verified DR's

Hey Ceasar! I see youre venturing out to the dark side of Nissan too . I too used to drag race my maxima but found out that the z33 is better car for thejob and all around performer.
What year and model do you plan on getting?
If you want to hit 12's with little modifications I say 07+ is your best bet.
Depending on the offset, I think those wheels will work in the rears.
I have an 07 and I use 15"x8" with 5.5" backspacing Jegs Drag Wheels for my track days. Not sure how much they weigh but for $110 shipped/each they were a bargain. Right now I use 275/55/15 BFGoodrich Drag Radials but plan on putting 27" ET Streets for next season.
A lot of 350z memebers use the old 300zx 16" stockwheels for their track days, so Im pretty confident if those SSR's are within the same size as the 300zx wheels (50+mm offset???) they will work fine.
Only question now is, will a pair fit up front??

Good luck to you on your journey to purchase a new Z. Youll enjoy it!

negative Zilvia. in that test that was done with stock maxima 16 inch wheels and street tires. Replaced those with the SSR Type C rims and street tires. -.3 was the result with same 60 foot and similiar track conditions (temp, humidity, etc) basically nothing on the car was changed except the SSR's.

The DR's were good for shaving another .2 off the 60 foot or aiding in knocking another .2 off the 1/4 mile et. Conclusion the proper wheels and tires out on the track can pack quite a punch one might say a .5 with this combo and given I get the 60 foot im looking for. Believe me this doesnt happen as much as you would like if the track is unprepped.

still sounds like theres a slim chance, but it seems i would be missing a fair bit of rubber to put down on the ground.

this is definately something i need to research. so plenty of searching ahead on the forums to find out what mods are worth doing to a Z33 and what kinda hp is being freed up etc from bolt on's, weight reduction options and just how much weight can be dropped off the car tastefully.

Are many people using the Greddy Emanage Ultimate ? Ive got that much covered for tuning.

Orrr too busy to type correctly, figures you drift....

Not to mention get off your high horse, self absorbed platform...last I checked this thread wasn't about you. More like about the OP's desire to drag quickly. You=pointless
