Default Damaged Volk Gt Series Wheels Have Hope Of Repair!

just wanted to post up a little info on a incident i had happen two years ago. since i am fairly new here i would like to share this information for people who might have some damaged volk gt series wheels. there is a option to replacing your wheels! what i had happen was when my z got put on a flat bed after a hard night at the drag strip ( broken rear axle shaft ) my z was put on a flat bed to be transported back to my garage. well everything looked fine that night when the car came off the flat bed but low and behold the next morning i saw that my rims were scratched to a hell! what happened was the flat bed driver installed the hold down straps through my rims front and rear. he stated the car was to low and it would be easier to do it this way and rest assured it would not damage my rims, well it did. i am not going to get into who paid for what but the damage was covered. so instead of buying a new set of volks i sent the rim barrels to cali chrome to be chromed. i know the volk barrels come with a andonized finish from the factory but getting them repaired back to oem spec's was nearly impossible. secondly i could have stripped of the andonized coating and polished them but that requires alot of up keep and i was not willing to go with that option. so chroming was the best option. they repaired the scratches and gouges by blending the affected areas and applied the chroming process, they came out great. i know some people have had there rims get ruined by using aggressive wheel cleaners and i see this as a option to repairing those defects. i am including some pic's. two years later and they still look great! plus they clean up easier and seem to hold up better to the wear and tear of public roads better.
