They are twichy in the rain, and when it comes to tread length, they last as long as stewert little on an ICBM (not realy, but i've been looking to find some place to use that analogy).
PS2 offers best of both worlds. These GRIP. PS2s are standard tires on high-end supercars such as Ferrari and Porsche - that says it all.

the tires i have on the car as i type cost me 800 bucks without install. That's for the stock 18's. 350z has pretty decent size rims for a stock car under 40k. Kind of sucks when it's time to buy new tires.

I just buy those cheap Riken Raptor tires. Only like $125/tire. cheap. cheap. cheap. Once I get some aftermarket 18's, then I guess I'll spend the extra on a good set to compliment the wheels.

Hope you're joking. I see that problem on a daily basis where I live. So many wanna-be sports cars with some unknown name brand wheels (probably cast, porous, and heavy) with the cheapest set of "cool, aggressive-looking" chinese tires.
Just like their ad says, "It's Bridgestone or nothing" for me. No other tire provides more confidence, feedback, and predictability than a Bridgestone sidewall! And they're on average $100 cheaper than Michelin. Formula One uses only Bridgestones.

Pirelli PZero Nero M+S
$970 Installed-Discount Tire(225/45/18 245/45/18)

I figured I didnt want the compound breaking down in the cold winter months when that one nice day every week rolls around.

I used to have them and I HATED how mediocore dry traction and ABYZMAL wet traction was. They're also loud as hell.
I just switched to PS2s. Paid a lot more money for them, but it's worth every penny spent!
Lemme tell you PS2s grip better in pouring rain than 555s on dry, hot surface. I'm not joking, that's how much of difference there is between the two.
You should really consider them next. Toyos and Dunlops don't compare to PS2s.
Your ride is like dressed in Armani suit with Rolex watch but is wearing Payless shoes; you can't let that happen ya know
