Which brand of tires are good?
toyos are good for the money, but the sidewall leaves a bit to be desired... its pretty soft, not much feedback through the corners and tends to let go pretty unexpectedly.
I have had 2 sets of toyos, the T1S and the T1R, next set I will probably buy something else just because I dont like the helpless feeling going through the corners.

I've never tried T1-Rs but I heard side wall is too soft.. It won't suit my need..
about the PS2... it's superior... except the price...

Bummer, I live in Seattle. 
Scratch the Nittos, then.
Looks like I'll go with the Toyo T1R again. Not a bad tire for the money.
Some features that most don't consider is tire weight (Toyo is light, Bstones are heavy), and grade wear - I like high 200s for sure so I'm not dropping $1K every year.

sidewall matters. if the ride comfort is your matter, go for t1-r's
other than that, I don't see the reason to go with t1-rs other than being cheaper than bridgestones..
Kumho MX is pretty cheap, have many sizes, holds up pretty good in dry/rain.

Yeah, I understand. I had them on my S2000 and actually liked them.
I want a balance. It's all a trade off. Daily driving through downtown requires SOME comfort.
Falken FK-452? Same weight as Toyo, a little cheaper, and ranked pretty well on 1010. But that chart on the first page (linked) lists them right behind the Toyo.

I've heard a LOT of mixed reviews on the Nittos, Toyos, Falkens, and even the Kumhos...
For example, on the Falken reviews, people either said it's the quietest tire ever, or the loudest - - that doesn't help for sh*t!

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 or NOTHING.
Avoid Nitto 555 at ALL COST.
I used to run Nitto 555s before switching to PS2s, and lemme tell you there is just ridiculous amount of difference between the performance between the two.
PS2s in pouring rain/wet surface in cold weather(low grip) STILL grips better than 555s in dry hot weather.
Those who said Nitto 555s are good obviously don't push their cars hard enough!
Don't go cheap on tires. You get what you pay for.

Hmmm for 18x9 + 22, 18x10 + 25... I want to just run 245/45 and 275/40, but those sizes are not available by the Vredestein.
Would these work?

Just one step smaller in the sidewall, or:
