curb scraped wheel
I scraped one of my wheels on a curb while leaving a fast food drive-thru. I contacted a wheel repair place and the technician said he could fix it but the color might not match. Then I contacted the dealer where I bought the car. They gave me a number of a company that comes out and fixes the wheel while it is on the car. This procedure was basically a lathe that turned down the face of the wheel. I took a pass on both of these options, however I did find a company that comes in town every friday. I met the wheel repair guys at the BMW dealership and they took the wheel off of the car and took it in his trailer and about 45 minutes later out came a wheel that looked brand new. I checked on buying a new wheel, however the cost was over $700.00 compared to this repair at one hundred dollars. If there are others that have scrapes on their wheels and would like to get the wheels restored just let me know, I will post the number.

Yes, please, I have the same thing on my rims on the 350z, the face is not marked up, just the lip about 30% around the edge. I can't afford new rims yet, but I thought there would be a way to polish and recoat that edge. I don't mind pulling the wheel off, and sending in a rim, if it is cost effective.
