Default TPMS Broke!!!!

Hi guys i searched and found nothing!!
Ok today when i went to pepboys to get tire mounted, they broke my TPMS!!!
I have OEM Metal Z cap on the stem and i guess it some out got stuck to the tip of the sensor (stem). The tip of the sensor; which is the stem; broke off with the cap on top of it!! Is this fixable somehow?? or do i have to replace the whole sensor?? i have the pic but can't seem to find the memory car reader at the moment!!! Help please!!! or does anybody have a one sensor to spare

hey man sorry to hear about your problems with the tpms. i actually work for a nissan dealership and we see this happen all the time. people will put metal caps on the stems and they kinda fuse together and when you go to fill the air or whatever they stick on there and then if you try hard enough to get it off they break with the whole stem. simple answer, yes you need to buy a whole new sensor...

Do you still have the pressure sensors to sell for the nissan Z wheels? I have an '03 and they did me the same way tonight. I had tires replaced, and the broke the valve head. They tried to replace it, but the different one doesn't work. I don't know what is wrong. Is there a way to check and get it working? Does it have to be a certain one for that wheel? I'm need help/

If your tire pressure sensor was replaced, you have to have your ECU reprogrammed to recognize the signal from the new TPS. Any Nissan dealer can do this. Some will charge you, some won't. Good luck.

The TPS's are sold BTW.

Ok. Had it fixed today! Here is the breakdown. If you buy the sensor from nissan, it is $106. The install of the sensor requires a tire removal and remount and balance(they say). That's $28. Then they have to re-calibrate the sensor to read. That will, or shall I say, did cost $80. that brings a total of $214 for the whole process. Very expensive item to fix at the dealership.I wish I had a way of programing myself. I have been thinking of getting my own tire machine!

Sounds pricey, but I'm glad they got it sorted out for you.
