true. but no matter what he could've/should've done I can still understand his situation b/c 2g's isn't anything to laugh at and i'm sure he wouldn't have bought them in the first place until they were put together correctly. thing's could've been handled differently on his part, but i just understand his frustration.

all he had to do was wait the week that trip asked for , if his shop didnt pull through at that point trip, in my mind, should have paid for another place to do the work.

You're forgetting that when they met the price was agreed at 2400, then currency asked for 200 less than what was agreed upon after taking Triple8's time, anyways. I ******* hate that. His cheap *** can wait a week.

Who wouldn't be pist off they buy something, go to install and they're not rite. If anyone here can honestly say they wouldn't have been pist off, especially the fact he called and got no answer your lying. That would have pist anyone off.

He prob left some ****ed up messages on Triples VM witch then pist off Triple causing this downhill spiral. I see both sides to this story.

The thing is, triple8sol responded within 1 day saying the shop would fix them next week. You've got to give someone more than 1 day to respond to something, especially on a weekend nonetheless.

I'd be more on currency's side, if wasn't such a douche and lo-balled Triple8

Yeah, I'm not saying he didnt jump the gun and didnt come off as a lil _____. But think about it, you bought wheels you real excited to put them on. They tell you there not rite, and it needs to go to a wheel shop. You call the person you just bought them from and he doesnt answer you call and call, and still no response. I see were he is coming from he def lost his patience, but he also thought he was being jipped.

No doubt Triple made the effort to get it fixed for him, but if any of you are like me you buy something and it isnt what you were expecting you would be upset to.

I have been personally ripped off in a similar situation only I never got the call back and I was patient.

But if I agree with you that I'm buying wheels for 2400, you take time out of your day to meet me... then I say I'm only picking them up for 2200 instead, to take advantage of the sellers new found joblessness, I don't think you have many rights at that time to get it taken care of asap if there's a prob.

Plus, "currency" had told someone else that he was picking up their wheels if they had them painted. the guy was going to get them painted, but only found out from here that "currency" had just bought wheels.

If I did pay the full agreed upon price, I would expect to get reimbursed from triple8.

From what I have read and understand, I too would have been agitated about the rim situation, though I would not have met up and offered a lower price. I do think Triple should have answered, or at least called back after the initial call from currency. Now I don't know if I missed it or what, but if currency called over and over like a crazy ex girlfriend, I would be less apt to talk to him. Overall, I think it this has blown way out of proportion, and only knowing both of you from this site, would avoid transactions with either of you. just my 2 cents.

Also if this was a local sale, why not handle it face to face.

triple said he was out all day on the mountains...can u blame him for not picking up? if it was more than a day i can understand but triple replied to his message and called the shop and said it would be fixed but it would be in a couple of days...its not triples fault currency went ahead and got it fixed on his own...

And don't forget currency's making fun of Triple8's job loss, then calling him a "little asian".

I do think, though, that the shop should have dealt with their mistake ASAP, and not wait a few days "when they have time".

Really though, since "currency" is such a "baller" why is he worried about a few bucks for fixing the wheels?

^^ as I said I would not have been angry if my inquiry was returned within 24 hours, but I would have expected it to have been by phone. and I agree the shop should have made time to fix the issue whenever the customer brought the wheels in, nevertheless I would have expected to pay to have the item fixed, if I were unhappy with the time frame given. Everything from that point on has been a bunch of nonsense that has crossed the line on both ends.

Guys, I agree with you all for the most part. If I were the buyer, I'd be frustrated too. However, if the seller responded to me quickly and decisively with an easy resolution, I wouldn't be tripping. When it's the weekend, you've got to wait 'til Mon. for a response. In this case, I responded as soon as I found out on Saturday night! Communication is the key, right? Well, that and some patience for the end resolution.

When I got back in the evening, from boarding all day, I found a couple inflammatory voicemails on my phone. I didn't call back b/c didn't want to lose my temper and say something I'd regret. I still responded immediately, just through the forum and PM instead, when I got home. If you think about it, it's a good thing I posted something in the forum instead of calling. Otherwise currency prob would've lied and said I never contacted him!

I can't control the fact that the shop screwed up. Of course, I do take offense to the fact that I was falsely accused of selling the rims knowing 2 centers were swapped.

Look at how long I've been a forum member, my post count, the fact that I've bought/sold some 15 sets of wheels on here, my iTrader rating, all the local meets I've setup or been involved in, and all the locals that I know and/or have done business with. If he's not giving me the benefit of the doubt and trusting me to handle the situation....can you imagine what he'd say about someone that is new to the forum?

Little off topic, or back to the original topic....but does anyone know how to get the torque specs for Volk wheels? I am interested in refinishing the lips and want to know what is involved. I'd like to do as much as possible myself. Shop in Houston wants 125 per wheel to take apart and put back together. Call me frugal, but that is ridiculous!!

Do they know the torque specs or are you just paying them to take the gamble for you? By that I mean, if they screw it up, they pay instead of you.
