Alignment and wheel balancing
What would be an reasonable price to pay for a 4 wheel alignment and to mount and balance a set of 19 inch tires? I've got an mechanic who wants to charge me close to 3 bills to do this work. He states thaT HE HAD TO ADJUST THE CAMBER AND TOE ON THE REAR OF THE CAR AND IS TRYING TO CHARGE AN EXTRA $40 FOR IT.
i was gunna guess it to about $300 after reading the first line. tire places are charging $100 now just to mount and balance on nicer wheels. about $200 has been the norm for a 4 wheels alignment though, not just fronts.
I suggest that you search for a recommended shop instead of price. No point in saving $100 if the shop screws up the wheels or alignment. Ask for a shop recommendation in the regional forum.
It has been a long time since I've owned a sports car with nice wheels. I have been driving SUVs with 15 to 16 inch rims and 32" tires. I have had to pay about $15 to mount and balance tires and about $90 for an 4 wheel alignment. That is roughly $200. I did not realize that it would be so much more to get the same work done on this car. Also, the shop uses a special Hunter balancing machine to balance the wheels.

I have had multiple allignments done and have paid anywhere from 59 bucks to 259 bucks. So 300 for mount, balance and allignment is in the ballpark
its 80 bucks for the four wheel alignment, i just had my second one, and while i was at the stealership i asked how much they charged and they said 79.99 also so.... but tire shop are charging more for a good ol' mount and balance
