Default Lighter wheels?

Ok I did a quick search and there where too many "i need opinions on these wheels" threads to really get too far, so I'll just go and ask it...

The stock wheels are sold by nissan as (quote from website) "5-spoke 18" lightweight, aluminium-alloy wheels"

My question is how lightweight are they by comparison to what is available aftermarket? I would consider upgrading for lighter wheels but if the differance is tiny, I'd rather save the two gorrilas for another mod.

Anyone who's changed their wheels for lightweight wheels, please comment.

The fronts are listed at 21.25lbs and the rears 29.50lbs, so these forged, lightweight wheels are not really that light.

I have a feeling that the rears are less than 29lbs as a few owners have weighed them and found them to be around 27lbs.

The weight of the front is decent, but I would hope for less weight from the rears. Some contribute the weight to their size, 19x10 which is decently wide along with the spokes which are wide and thick themselves.

Oh and if you search around, there is some good info on the subject.

I was going to post a link myself, but that forum/site has been censored by my350z for awhile.

For a very lightweight wheel for a descent price look into Enkei or ADVAN. My 18X9 ADVAN RS wheels are 17.8 lbs. They only cost about 450ea.

Oh... it didn't work a minute ago, but now I see it's a PhotoBucket link/pic. Thanks David.

Voks and cheap don't coexist together. ADVAN's and Enkei are alot cheaper and still a very high quality wheel.

I guess that's easy for you to say.

Nonetheless, Advan does make quality wheels, and the RS are one of my favorite.

Hey, does anyone know if 17 inch Enkei RPF1's will clear the stock brembos? Also, what is the bolt pattern on our Z's? 100 x 5?

I really like those wheels, nice choice. I'll have to start saving up, I think I can afford like 2 wheels so far.

idk about 17" enkei's and brembos, but our bolt pattern is 5x114.3. after you read this don't come back to this thread b/c I have a feeling you will get flamed like no other for that question.

Get some Volk Time Attacks. 19s are 16lbs for fronts and 18 for rears. Lightest 19" wheel i could find. BTW they cost about double that $450, each, without tire. So yes $450 is super cheap for wheels.

look up the Enkei RPF1's. I was going to go with them but they couldnt get the 10.5's so I went ahead and blew my dough on the LMGT4's lol. RPF1's are really light, come in alot of great sizes.
