Default Looking for advice on scratched rim

I was in the process of buying a set of 08 GT rim/tires, and the seller just notified me that one of them accidentally got scratched. Can this type of scratch be repaired? Any idea how much it would cost?

Thanks,

Mark

hard to tell from the pic, you might be able to buff it out or pay about 50-100to get it fixed. i'd leave it

A qualified shop can easily repair that.

Btw, those are not GT rims. They are the standard rims for an 06+

GT refers to Grand Touring, which has upgraded Rays forged rims

I think there are plenty of people selling those rims and you could get a set that are perfect.

Thanks, calling them GT was a typo, probably because I wish they were GT wheels.....but they're just to hard to find used.

There's companies out there that do this type of work. I know cuz my friend use to own a mobile wheel repair company & I use to work for him. From the picture that you posted is one of the easiest things to repair. My friend charges $50 bucks per rim. But let me tell you this... He'll leave it like new. He matches up the paint to the exact color of the wheel.

Did you ever wonder how they repair rims at local dealerships? They contract outside vendors that do these type of repairs. The most types of repairs we ever did were curb damage and all you need is a angle grinder, the right disk's to sand down the damaged area, and spray gun. Took no more than 15 mins per wheel.

If you ever buy a car from a dealer and you see curb damage... request to have them fixed and it'll be no charge.
