Default To spacer or not to spacer?

Just wondering if there are any ill effects of using spacers to get a wheel to sit well visually? The wheel I'm looking at comes in at +35 and uses a 15 spacer to put the overall offset at +20. Is this a bad thing to do or is this fine performance and safety wise? Or am I just better off finding a wheel that does not require a spacer at all?

of course its better if you find wheels with the right offset.

but if you do end up using spacers, there's nothing wrong with it. the car will definitely look better, and as far as handling/performance goes, there's no decrease in quality.
