Default Tires OK for 19'?

Hey guys,
Just by question, I was wondering if these tires were OK to use with my 19's.

F: 225/40/19
R: 245/40/19

I used the miata.net calculator and the revs/mile were pretty close. I know these would be a little thicker on the sidewalls than if I were to go with a 35 side wall. Only reason I ask, my bro-in-law can get these tires for cheap, but can't get the 35 sidewalls for the same price. I was also thinking, since hawaii roads have such enormous potholes everywhere, it wouldn't help to have a little thicker rubber than the 35 sidewall. Is anyone running these?

The differences are pretty close, within 3%, so you should be just fine. As long as the rims are not very wide, 9"+, you should be fine.

I guess I may have a problem with the 10" rears?

A 10 inch wheel in the back is common. Just get the right offset.

Can anyone tell me why it would be bad to run a the 245/40/19 in the rear if my rim is 10" wide? I know it would have a higher higher sidewall by about 0.3" than if I were to run a 275/35/19. Aside from the side wall, wouldn't it just look like a small stretch if you run the 245/40/19 on a 10" rear rim width?

245 on a 10" wheel will not be a small stretch, granted this also depends on which tire brand you go with. But regardless it will be stretched!

on those widths, you should really be going 245/35/19 and 275/35/19

Ah ic ic. So major stretch. I thought it would be a light stretch, but if it's a stretch stretch, 275/35/19 it is.
