Default TOYO Proxes T1R

Sorry if this has been discussed before. Anyone have these or used them in the past? How did they hold up? Were they sticky enough for spirited driving? I would be getting a 275/40/18 Thanks for all the help!

I had T1R's on my 944Turbo and they were very sticky! Treadwear isnt fantastic, but the stickier the tire the faster the tread wears.

I now have Proxes 4 on my rear wheels and love them... Toyos are a very good tire.

they are decent for the money, but as many will state, the sidewall is a bit soft. good for ride comfort and stick, but not that great for cornering. I have had the old T1S and the new T1R's and for the most part I like them, but I would never do any public street extreme cornering on them, they really dont give very good feedback and tend to let go unexpectedly. My next set I will be trying the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires.

I had a set of T1s back in the day. They were great at first but after putting some heat into them they turned hard as a rock. So I didnt want to jump head first back into another set of Proxes without getting some info first.

Everyone and their mother runs T1R here. Reason many run them here are because 1)hype 2)relatively good for the price.

T1R is nowhere near the level of the best, but well you get what you pay for, right?

I'm currently running T1R right now because I was a bit short on budget. So far it has been fairly descent. I just can't wait till I go back to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2.

T1R in 18s should be fairly cheap. Somewhere around $800 for a set of 4.

Not from personal experience, but I've heard that T1Rs are good for their price. Very similar in price and performance is the Kumho MX. If you are flexible on your sizing, you may want to look into a BFG KDW...slightly more expensive than the toyo, but many that have owned both like the BFGs a lot more.

So you searched for the topic OP was inquiring about, just to make a dick comment? You could at least post the links to a couple of those threads you found.

good for their price? i'd have to disagree. i have these tires and paid $900 for (2) 255/35/19 & (2) 285/35/19. they're not bad tires, just not "good," especially for their price - IMO.

Good value, decent tire. There is better out there, but also many worse. Do a search, lazy ass.
