I just ordered my new wheels 18x8.5 & 18x9.5 for tires I am thinking 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear. Do ya think that will look alright, the rear is just .14 inches smaller then the front. Randy

but running a smaller diameter tire in the rear is not the best. the rear should be taller if anything. go with another brand maybe? also, I would atleast put a 255 up front, running a 30mm stagger is gonna lead to understeer and look stretched on a 8.5.

mine are all stretched but that's what i like. i have 18x9.5 in the rear with
245/45/18 tires and it looks pretty good to me. I also have a 2 inch drop and 25mm spacers so they fit really well.
depending on the offset of the wheel you may not be able to fit a wider tire without pulling the fenders. I rolled my fenders and they barely fit.

If no rubbing problems then I will go 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. This combo will have the new tires front and rear the same hight as the stock tires, just wider, and thats what I wanted. Thanks, Randy

no way you will rub.
also, you should just verify that they are the same as stock by using a tire size calculator like: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
if so, do it! I have run 255/275 on two different setups, both with fairly aggressive offsets (+22/+20 on 19s and +20/+18 on 18s)

Vold LE37's 19" X 9.5"/10.5"
+22 all around
255/285/35 KDW2's
Rear fenders rolled to prevent rubbing. When slammed front end rubbed on hard turns (inside fender plastics), raised the car some now its fine.
