Default Mixing tire types?

I have searched the forum and couldnt find an answer on this, but I am about to replace the rear tires on my 07 and want to get the best which research has brought me to KDW2s. The thing is, my OEM Bridgestone fronts are still pretty much good to go. So would mixing the more grippy KDW2s with the stock Bridgestones out in front make a big difference in the handling characteristics of the car?

You can safely mix different brands of front and rear tires as long as you remain within the same classification (i.e., summer performance, maximum performance, etc.). Rear-wheel drive is very forgiving here.

You should not run something like front summer performance tires with all-season rear tires (if you drive these tires hard).

If you do mix different brands of tires, you should be aware that mixing tires with soft-sidewalls and stiff-sidewalls can provide less than desirable handling.

Mixing front and rear tires works, but it does requires some research on your part.

As you know tires are tested in groups of 4. The result of mixing tires is uncertain. Maybe better. Maybe worse.

i did it with mine and its fine for everyday driving but once you get up to about 100+ it gets nasty going through any slight curves. the car just doesnt feel as stable at high speeds.

You'll be fine, as long as you get the correct sizes.
