Default TPMS 10 min trick reprogramming...

When I had my RX8 I would constantly swap wheels/tires (summer/winter) I had tpms on all wheels and I didn't have to take it to the stealership to have it reprogrammed. What we were told was to turn the ignition to ACC and leave it there for 10 mins and then start the car. This procedure then reprograms our tpms. Has anyone tried this yet or want to try it? I'm still waiting on my wheels/tires and if no one tries I will.

That won’t work with the Z because Nissan localizes the pressure reading to individual sensors (i.e., all four TPMS sensors deliver independent readings).

And… that’s a better way to do this.

Discount Tire will reprogram your TPMS for free in less than 40 seconds for all 4 wheels.

Won't work because the sensors aren't activated until the car is rolling (centrifugal switch). That's where the dealer coming into play, they use a tool to activate them while the car is stationary.

They may be able to reset the sensors themselves, but I doubt every DT owns a ConsultII unit that is required to make the computer in the car recognize the sensors' internal ID.

Default It just might work

My TPMS light (07 model) was stuck on. All the tires were at correct pressure, but it would not go off. I just left it on acc for 10 minutes and the light went out! If it comes back on, I will post. Thanks for the tip--I hope.

I got new rims and tires Thursday - I also had a different set of TPMS sensors from an 05' Z (guy I bought the rims from didn't need them, sold his Z). I will be trying this later tonight!

I'll let you guys know if this works!
