There they are, Toyo RA-1 race tires sized 275/40/17 and 255/40/17. Tires are shaved to 4/32nds. Wheels have not arrived yet, I can't wait to get these on track!!

Doing 2 track events in August with Speedventures. Both events are gonna be weekende events so there is no more excuses for the SoCal guys to miss it. Better see some more Z's out there!

can you explain some about the process, cost, and pros/cons of this?

how does a shaved tire differ from just doing a long burnout untill the tread is gone? I mean Im sure theres a difference but what is it?

a long burnout will lead to flat spots on the tread...not good.

Steve, which track events you doing? I may see you out there again...I'm determined to get through ONE track event without breaking something...excluding track events prior to my Z and S that is.

I will be going to SOW on August 3rd, Buttonwillow next (whatever day they run CCW), and Parhump.
