Baller Status Lug Nut Advice Needed
For the longest time I used a set of gorilla/muteki spline drive style lug nuts. They all were the same and had a key that was used with the oem tire iron to pull them off. EXTREMLY easy to use and very convient to change a tire on the street.
I stepped up to a set of extended Rays, and I gotta say, they are just a ***** in general to get on and off + I gotta carry a couple sockets in my car, and a wrench to pull them off if I have a flat -- how is that saving me weight???
Can anyone make any recomendations on a set of BALLER lug nuts, that aren't a pain to get on and off, something that I can pull on and off on the street with out carrying extra tools. Something with a supplied adaptor to be used with the oem tire iron would be great.

WOW. You sound just like me. Farking rays extended lugs SUCK.
They are terrible. They are awful. They are the reason I already
dished a rear hub. Getting them off for the last time will make
you feel free again. Mackin and Rays should be ashamed of this
specific product. I do not know if the short nuts are as bad...
My suggestion - Spring for KICS R40. They come with a very
nice and unique keyed lug chuck. Super high quality. Will make
you cringe just thinking about that chrome alloy **** from Rays!!!

I really like Mcgard Spline Drive Lugs. I do carry "baller" extended aluminum lugs that are very light weight and nice but the Mcgard's are still my favorite. The lugs are chrome steel plated which is very durable and will not chip away like painted/anodized lugs. They are also light weight and have a washer piece on the bottom of the lug that stays still while torquing the lugs to prevent your wheel from getting scratched. I previously had a set of Rays Duralumin lugs that chipped really bad and would often seize, my Mcgard's are problem free 
They use a key to take them on/off, 21mm socket or 13/16" socket works with the key.

I'd disagree - Gorilla lugs are not painted, they are also steel chrome plated and heat treated

I use the Gorilla's on my own car since a local distributor stocks thousands of them and they are cheap - mine are black, and have been on and off my car probably 100 times. They have never once chipped, nor scuffed my wheel, and I've used both a torque wrench and impact gun on them. I've also had McGards - they worked well too, I just don't like how the whole lug isn't colored (personal preference)
As far as weight, it's a moot point as far as I am concerned; I am practical - I don't give a rats behind what my lug nuts weigh
A couple of ounces ain't going to win the race for me, nor get me to to work any quicker

how much are the Mcgard Spline Drive Lugs? I think I'm going to sell my Rays lugs. I like to swap back to my stock wheels when I go in to the dealer. I dont want to worry about them damaging the Rays, nor do I want to keep the stock lugs around for the swap.
