I have only owned my Z for about 9 months. I want to change my rims and buy different 17" rims and use my current tires. Tire Discounters say one size and a local car shop give me another size that will fit my Z. I know my Z is a 2003 Enthusiast model with factory 17" rims. I have already replaced front and rear tires with Bridgestone Potenza tires and I'll grab the sizes from them tomorrow. If you can tell from the pictures of my car, please give me the lug pattern and offset that fit my front and rear so I can order some new rims. Thanks.

youre going to have to go low and wide. Itd help if you listed what size wheels youd like. 8.5 front 9.5 rear? The width affects offset. For the Z you need a low offset to begin with. The narrower the wheel the lower the offset should go so that you get a nice flush look.

Ill be running 9.5/10.5 +17/+18. The rears will be flush but require fender rolling. You can calculate another similar offset by doing the basic math. Remember, the offset is the distance from the hub to the center of the wheel. The lower the number, the further out your wheel will go.

 

I have a set of wheels with specs below:
Fronts:
19x8.5
+22 offset
245/35/19 Tires

Rears:
19x9.5
+30 offset
285/35/19 Tires

Will I need to roll my fenders?

 

not with that setup, no. Probably will need spacers..

 

voo doo that is not a nice offset for the z at all +1 on needing spacers.

 

to the OP, if you are buying aftermarket rims, its really not worth getting 17"s imo. Visually, 18"s look better (19's are the best!). Save your cash and get some nice wheels rather than throwing money on some you'll get tired of quickly. For offsets, the lower the number the better generally like +15.

 

Lug pattern: 5x114.3

Offset: +20, give or take

 

Use an offset calculator and compare the current wheels with the new wheels. With a tape, check if you clear the strut housing, brake caliper and fender.

Please upgrade wheels and tires at the same time. 17's you will not have a whole lot of option in good looking and fitting wheels, and the stock tires suck *** as is. Save up some money and go at least 18's.

Size, anything around +20 give or take 5mm will be good to go.

im sorta in the same situation with OP,

i want to get new wheels. But im thinking about running the same width all around.

so it would be, 18 x 8.5 +25 all around. This shouldnt cause any problems with VDC, etc correct?

 

Damn I am terrible with this stuff. I already got awesome tires on my 17"s. I have Bridgestone RE960AS Pole Position tires. Maybe I'll just wait till it's time to replace them then buy new rims and tires if I am going to keep the car long enough.
