Default A question about DUBZ

I'm not a fan of the bling bling dubz, but i was told that i could find 20 inch wheels for a lot cheaper than 19 inch rims. This is because 19's are pretty rare and therefore are more expensive (makes sense to me). I was looking for some 19's but i was wondering are their any 20 inch non-bling style wheels that i should take a look at? I know that they are heavier and that they arent great for performance but i dont think ill be takin those on any race track anytime soon. Thanks!

...you got soo much to learn!!! first order of business, whoever told you 19's are more expensive then 20's becuase they're rare needs to be puched in the face...secondly, you need to learn rim prices are affected by their quality/brand...you can buy 18's that are gonna cost more then some 20's...it all depends on the brand/or quality of the rims...once you start readin more you'll eventually start to understand stuff better, and learn what brands to go with...

some good brands:
Volk Racing
HRE
I-forge
BBS

p.s. dunno if you know but "bling bling dubz" are usually called chrome rims...

Default Thanks i guess?

Bling bling dubz was a term i used to talk about the heavy, huge, angular rims that are not always chrome. I was also talking about highly polished aluminum rims that look like they belong on trucks rather than on the Z. I obviously understand that quality and the "brand" of a wheel is what makes up the price of a certain wheel. I WILL BE MORE SPECIFIC. I was wondering if their are any good wheels in the 20 inch diameter that are less expensive than those same rims in 19 inches. Thats what i meant, and i understand that i didnt really come across too clearly. But i did want to know in general if there are 20 inch rims that i should take a look at.

equal quality, 20's will be more.

I think thats what your looking for.

also most racing rims that youll find(forged and what not) are not available in 20" sizes. mainly because the size does not lend itself to racing, making it not worthwhile to create. so overall you might find 20" rims less, but that is only because you will never find one near the quality of those brands mentioned above most of which do not make many if any 20" rims.

if you dont need to compensate in some way with 20" rims, get 19s dont think your gonna save money.

Default Thanks!

Thanks a lot ares. good info. The guy at discount tire was all about saving me money and telling me to go for the 20s. It seemed weird to me also. He probably wanted to see some 20 inch rims on a superblack Z!

how much was he selling you the 20" rims for? and how much did they weigh if he even had that info. youd likely spend no more than 3000 for a REALLY nice set of 19" or 4000 if you go to HRE, but those are the pinnacle of rims.

19" te37s are the lightest set of 19" rims you can buy more or less, and they are like 2500 for a set. but they arent flashy at all.

20's do cost less if you're going with a set of mainstream wheels/tires.
