Refering to rolling or shaving the rear fender for aggressive wheel/suspension set-ups.
Wanted to find out what the pro's/con's are for each.
Is this just a personal preference?
Is one better than the other?
Please post opinions/experiences.
(Didnt know if i should start this in the wheel or suspension section.)
EDIT: Maybe need to clarify. Im not asking if i need to or not. i know i do. i just want to find out if theres any advantages/disadvantages to either method.

how is my car not setup right?
when you run a 285/35 on a 19x10.5 wheel, you have to do one or the other......
thanks for the great posts there people.
Idwin, seriously, can you stop being a tool for maybe one day?

I rolled my rear fenders when I had the bodykit installed. I'm running Volk GT-7
20x10.5 + 24 offset in the rear and 19x9.5 front +30 offset
I didn't want to take a chance on having any problems so I just went a head and had it done. Rolling was the easiest.

running 19x10.5 +17 offset with 285/35/19 tires.
am rubbing a good bit which i figured i would going with this size tire.
actually had the 275/35 before and got no rubbing what so ever but im on the nismo suspension so its a pretty mild drop.
just seeing if there are any advantages/disadvantages with either method or if its just a personal preference.

Both are going to weaken the fenders. The inside lip on the fender is for strength as well as the row of spot welds on the inside fender lip, both strengthen the fender. If you shave the fender you are going to lose these welds and some of the strength, it can cause waves in the fender. With rolling you are just folding the fender lip up. It will weaken the finder a little, but less than shaving it. I’m sure there are some body shops out there that can recreate the lip, but you are talking money. You can rent the tool to roll the fender yourself for a lot less. If I was going to add Veilside III fender flares or Do-Luck fender I might consider shaving, other than that I would roll the fender. Hope this helps.

thanks for the responses everyone!
sounds like rolling is the way to go.
i know i can run a 275/35 with no problems, but like the look of the 285 better.
now i just need to find someone who will do it soon. lol
i know theres someone very local who does this, but he isnt available for a couple weeks.
