Default Curbed my Volks :(

So I curbed my front wheel this past weekend quite bad and it's bugging the **** out of me. So I took it to a well-known wheel repair shop today and they told me that since my wheels have an anodized lip, they won't be able to repair it to its original look. They said that they would be able to repair the wheel, however, where the wheel got curbed would then be an aluminum finish that will not be able to be clear coated and he also mentioned that there will be a slightly noticeable difference from the rest of the wheel. What should I do?? Should I just get the wheels fixed by the shop? They're asking $235 to repair the wheels. Are there shops that can anodize wheels? please help.

That sucks. Any where they "repair" (probably the entire outter rim/edge of the lip) is going to turn whitish when the aluminum oxidizes. Post pics of the damage, it might not be worth "fixing" them.

(I feel your pain, my volk lips are f'ed up, clear coat is stripped on some parts)

Please post photos of the damage done on your wheel. I cannot give judgement otherwise.

That's the real danger of having anodized lips, once it's scratched, it's never the same...

However, I've seen some instances where it was repaired close to the original.

What Volks were scratched?

$235 to repair the wheel?? That seems to be to expensive. I would check around. I'm in New York and can get it done for $80 - 125 / wheel.

You'll only be able to tell in certain light. I use to repair rims way back in the day. Most dealers in So Cal came to us to repair wheels. They had us do a set of Volks for a G35 that were curbed pretty bad. We told the dealer the same info they gave you and they didn't care. When we finished we could only tell in certain light but in the dark it was most notible but only to the person who did the wheel. $235 is way too much btw. Most will charge $80-$160 the most.

This is the same retard who said "all asians cant drive" and he would rather drive around with illegal aliens then asians.

Please disregard this person as he is obviously one of the dimmest bulbs my350z has ever seen..

How does your statement have anything to do with my question? Just so you know, I suddenly swerved when I saw a huge pot hole and my wheel hit the meridian next to me.
