Default Tire Size???

I have got a new set of rims and have been looking for tires. Unfortunately where I am located we have few to choose from other then crossing the river and going to Detroit.

Most shops in my town appear to have a 245 40 18 in stock in most major brands and a 275 35 18 in stock as well. If I go with a 275 40 18 it looks like I will have a few days to wait??

Is it possible to run a 245 40 18 and a 275 35 18 on a VDC equipped car????

Looking for general answer I understand that some brands may not maybe measured identically. Just a few tthoughs on if it would work?? Looks like it may save me a bit of time.

THANX

The overall diameter is 4.17% less with 275/35-18” than stock. That size difference could interfere with VDC function.

I would wait the few days for the correctly sized tire.

If you search around you'll find comments that anything above a 3% difference would cause issues with VDC. The greater the difference the more likely you are to have problems.

Use a tire calculator and figure it out. You are no longer a newbie.

Do yourself a big favor and wait, so we won't have to read your rant later

Seriously just wait.
