Default tpms sensor question

I'm looking to upgrade my stock wheels to a set of volks or something similar and was wondering if you have to make sure you match the same sensor with the same wheel? ( right rear with right rear etc ). I know on my 06 pathfinder it doesn't matter which sensor goes in which wheel but all it has is a dash light that tells you a tire is low and on my 06 350 the computer can tell you tire pressures in each wheel. I tried asking my local dealer but he couldn't give me an answer. Anyone know??? I assume this has been asked before but i couldn't find the info when I did a search ( sorted through 100 threads with no luck )

if you dont want to have it reprogrammed, then yes you need to match the sensor to the right wheel.

or you can take it to the dealership and have them reprogrammed for $50.00

up to you

If they couldn't answer your simple question you should probably consider going to another dealership. It tells you two things.
1. They're lazy.
2. Half the employees don't know what they're doing.

Or worst case scenario... both.

what year is your car? The reason I ask the 07 and 08 do not have the psi monitor like the previous year 06 and below have the monitor, in the 07 and 08 case it does not matter which tmps you use per wheel......I just put new wheels on my car and it does not make a difference.........

For sure, keep all your TPMS in the same wheel if you decide to swap out rims. Also some wheels may need modification in installing. Normally JDM wheels with a slight slant fit like a glove.
