Painting Rims
Hey guys, I'm thinking of painting the lips of my rims red and was if anyone that has done this can help me.
1.) What kind of color should I get to match this lip color:

2.) I heard using red caliper paint would work. Will the result be smooth or will it be rough?
3.) When I apply the primer before painting, do I wait until primer is completely dried before applying paint?
And if any of you are asking... It's because I bought the wrong rims (was supposed to buy the one with Time Attacks... So now im DIYing my own TA's...)
Thanks.

Whenever you paint wheels make sure to let any primer you use dry. Also when you are done painting consider using a clear coat in order to make the paint smoother. Just go with it as you start painting is the best solution. A clear coat won't hurt it as long as it's even but it's not always necessary either. It depends on the paint that you use. Also make sure the are you are painting is completely clean or else you'll be disappointed with the results.
I actually ended up getting mine powdercoated Boba. Sorry for not responding to you PM last night, I was exhausted lol.
I did a good bit of prepping which consisted of cleaning the wheel then sanding it down to scuff it up a bit. Primered it a few layer and sanded out any imperfections that happened and put about 4-5 layers of paint because I would wetsand after each coat dried. After that was finished, I put about 3-4 coats of clear... but I'm not sure if that was enough for the rears or not because the paint ended up cracking in the rear
The fronts held up fine though.
